Here Out West is a deeply moving anthology feature told through multiple directors, each weaving together intersecting stories from Sydney’s western suburbs. At its heart is the powerful tale of a grandmother who takes a desperate leap—stealing her grandchild from a hospital in the hope of saving her from a life in foster care. The film celebrates community, cultural diversity, and quiet acts of resistance. My costume design honoured the distinct identities within each storyline, helping to thread together a cohesive visual world rich with authenticity and heart.
